If you are a boat owner, then you are probably like many others and you absolutely love your boat. A great boat provides you with dependable recreational use for your friends and family. Often times, some of our best memories are made while out enjoying the water. However, it is often hard to make your boat stand out from all the others. If you are a person who enjoys being a little different and turning heads, then you may want to consider boat wraps as a way to make your boat unique.

If you do not know what a boat wrap is, it is very similar to a vinyl car wrap. You have surely seen work vehicles driving down the road that are covered in graphics. Often times, these graphics are not painted on, but they are simply printed on vinyl sheets applied to the vehicle. This is often much easier and less expensive than having custom paint work done. However, even vehicle wraps are not just for businesses. Many people enjoy designing their own graphics to apply to their cars. This is now gaining popularity in the boating world as well.

So, what can you apply to your boat? Vinyl boat wraps can be made with nearly anything you can imagine. Many of these wrap installers will have stock designs that you can choose from to have applied to your boat. However, for truly unique designs, you can work with their graphic designers to come up with a one-of-a-kind design. Many people will simply choose to have flames applied to the side of their speedboat; however, can you imagine seeing a boat speeding across the water in the shape of a missile? Or, how about a 25-foot shark boat wrap speeding toward you? These wraps allow you the unique opportunity to truly make your boat look like nothing else on the water.

Boat wraps cost about the same as having a car wrapped. This can range anywhere from £1500-£5000. This may sound like a lot, but vinyl wraps for boats can often cost 30 to 40% less than painting. Also, if you change your mind in a few years, you can easily remove the wrap and have a new design installed.

If the design and installation costs seem unusually low, you may want to be wary. Often times, it is wise to spend the extra money to make sure you’re getting quality vinyl and ink, which should be installed by certified technicians.

Boat wraps should last anywhere from 3 to 8 years. There are a number of factors which will determine how long your wrap will last. Whether or not you keep it in or out of the water will be a large determining factor. Also, boats that are kept stored inside will last much longer than boats exposed to the elements.
